Review of the Childrens Act 1989 Child Access restrictions for abusers

Additional Information

The current family court system only rejects 1% of child access cases on the grounds of domestic abuse despite 70% of cases citing it as an issue.
this is a petition to fix the system wth the following child protection measures based upon the DASSH risk assessment. The government should work with Womens Aid and Police Victim Support.
• No access for abusers where the abused have scored High Risk on the DASSH
• No access for abusers where there has been a MARAC hearing or there is going to be.
• Where threats of physical violence, to mame, molest or kill a child or fetus, No access should be given to the abuser, whether the child is yet born or not.
• Where the abused score low to moderate on the DASSH, access should be granted only in a supervised capacity.
regular drug tests for drug users
no access for those who score high risk on the DASSH , who have had a MARAC hearing or where the abused have had to seek refuge. Also where target hardening has been carried out.
