Legislation preventing campaigning politicians making unsubstantiated claims.

Petition Details

The entire EU campaign has been fuelled with scaremongering, propoganda, lies and at very least grossly exaggerated promises. If we had facts alone to go on then we would gain voting based on clearer understanding of the results of our decisions. It is time politicians had rules and consequences to.

Additional Information

So newspapers are now somewhat controlled as to what they can print and held accountable more if they get it wrong. What I want to see is control and legislation to control politicians feeding the public misimformation and if they lie to gain advantage to be held accoutable there after. If we had facts alone to go on and promises which were garrenteed then I think we would get more voting based on genuine understanding on the results of our decisions!
