Set out principles for any negotiation pertaining to leaving the European Union
Parliament should vote on a motion supporting access to European markets, free movement of people, and compatibility with major areas of European law. This being a move to boost confidence for business and markets, and to reassure the European citizens living and working in the UK.
There is currently great uncertainty and anxiety both for business and financial markets, and for the many Europeans who live and work as part of our communities; friends, colleagues and loved ones. Parliament should act to create certainty and confidence, setting out the principles on which any negotiation should be based. This should include the key areas such as free movement, access to markets, and legal compatibility such topics as data protection.
