Restructure the QLTS assessment to allow candidates pace themselves
The QLTS allows foreign lawyers to qualify in England and Wales without the need to complete the full SRA training requirements.
It comprises of a Multiple Choice Test and an Objective Structured Clinical Examination where candidates take 18 assessed exercises:6 per subject, ALL IN 1 SITTING
This practice is not in tune with modern professional examinations where examinations are split by subjects and candidates have the option of taking any subject/combination of subjects at their desired pace (example ACCA).
The examining body, Kaplan states that the assessments examine Outcomes C, D and F of the SRA's Day One Outcomes.
This is prejudicial because all Day One Solicitors in England and Wales have the option sit the exams at their preffered pace.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
The QLTS assessment is overseen by the Solicitors Regulation Authority, which is independent of Government and Parliament.
