Give England and Wales a referendum on Scotland's continued membership of the UK
Allow Scotland to fund their own lavish social security system, free university tuition fees, free prescriptions & public services in the way that the English & Welsh taxpayers have to now. Scotland could fund their own armed forces, organise their own currency & join the back of the EU entry queue.
Everyone would benefit by ridding parliament of Scottish MPs meddling in the affairs of the rest of the union as they do now.
In 2012/13 total public spending in Scotland was estimated to be £65.2bn, or 9.3% of total UK spending, with a population of 8.3%.
Even by the most generous measure, Scotland raised £53.1bn in taxes during 2012/13 and spent £65.2bn, leaving the country £12.1bn short. In the same period, the UK had a shortfall of £117.4bn.
