Invoke an act of Parliament to determine the UK's membership of the EU.
Leaving the EU will have a profound impact on both the UK and the EU, and the economic implications will be felt globally. Such a significant decision should only be taken by those who are sufficiently informed of the potential pros or cons.
The government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland has a duty of care to act in the short, medium and long-term interests of its people. Furthermore, the impact of leaving the EU will be felt more acutely by the younger members of society, and we have a responsibility to act in the best interests of future generations, not only to serve our immediate aspirations. With ~700,000 new young voters each year, by the time we leave the EU - it will not be the popular choice.
