The UK will not leave the single market without a further referendum.
Throughout the referendum campaign, the public has been promised that full access to the single market can be maintained and it was on this basis that the narrow "Leave" victory margin (52/48) was achieved. It would be catastrophic for the UK economy if this access were given up or diluted.
