Politics, voting and the government taught formally in schools from 13 years old
In light of a year of record numbers of Polls and Referendums, we ask the Government to make it a formal requirement, that the education system in the United Kingdom teaches from approx. age of 13 , Politics, voting and the government in order to equip our junior citizens with the knowledge to vote
Many do not understand the system, the parties, how or why to vote. As much as English, Maths and Science are core subject, So should be Citizenry, or "Politics, voting and the government" and not merely a partial lesson within other subjects. It should be a formal subject of multiple lessons throughout the latter years of schooling prior to their 16th birthday and the ability to vote being given to them (not a requirement of voting though)
