Endorse that the EU referendum leave campaigns brought politics into disrepute
Endorse the statement that British politics has been brought into a state of disrepute by the false assertions made during the EU referendum campaign and the immediate retractions after the result was known.
On Question Time on the 26th of June well known politicians indicated that there is always deceit in political campaigns and implied that not telling the truth was somehow more acceptable as it was a campaign for a referendum, not a government seeking election. These statements betray that the political class believe that lying to the public is acceptable and the essentially dishonourable character of many politicians.
