Response to the EU referendum must recognize the influence of campaign claims.
Referendum campaign claims mean that many will have voted with the following expectations. That there would be no economic damage to the UK; that there would be a significant rise in NHS funding; that VAT on fuel would be lowered to 5% and that there would be a major reduction in immigration.
