Put GCSE politics on the national curriculum
The EU referendum has shown that we as a nation could benefit from increased knowledge of politics.
During the recent referendum campaign, it soon became clear that we the public had great difficulty critically examining the claims made by each side, and properly considering the effects of leaving the EU.
A 36% turnout of 18-24 year olds also highlighted the need to engage the younger generation in politics, in order to empower them to confidently make the decisions that will disproportionately affect them.
There's currently no compulsion or provision to study GCSE politics in the UK.
