Computer Science should be a core subject of the national curriculum
We are told that the future of our economy lies in high technology. This means we need electronic engineers and computer scientists, yet our children are taught at most how to use a spreadsheet. Politicians may think this is the height of technology, but they should be creating their own spreadsheet applications in their assignments not just using them.
By 2013 (to allow for teacher training) Computer Science will be a core subject of the national curriculum, but not by replacing any other scientific subjects.
