Re-evaluate the Academic (school) year and revoke the long summer holiday
Society is changing and so is the school environment.
It is time that the government looked into changing the way that the Academic year runs for Primary & Secondary education.
Long summer holidays put pressure on working families. It also creates a long break in the time that childrens minds are stimulated, and has a negative effect on the learning progression of young people.
Furthermore, long summer holidays where children are bored and have nothing to do, also influence negative and antisocial behaviour.
It is about time that the academic year ran from January to December. With the holidays spread throughout the year.
