Regulation of Street Fundraising (Direct Debit)
"To be perfectly frank, as it currently stands, the licensing of F2F fundraising is a bit of a dog’s dinner."
Public Fundraising Regulatory Association.
We petition for the Government to properly regulate street fundraising by amending the law so that charities who solicit for direct debits fall under the same regulations and legal requirements as those organisations who solicit for cash donations.
We do not believe that charities who ask for donations on the street should be treated differently according to whether they are soliciting cash donations or direct debits.
We believe that professional fundraising agencies should no longer be allowed to exploit this loophole in the law to their own advantage.
