Allow UK Citizens to Vote in EU Referendums, regardless of UK Residency status.

Petition Details

In the recent EU Referendum, many UK Citizens, resident overseas, were unable to vote, as they had not been a UK Resident in the past 15 years. Many UK Citizens, could be adversely effected by future decisions made by the UK Government, denying them EU rights such as, Residency, health benefits etc.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

The Government has said that it does have plans to change this rule. It's therefore not clear what action you would like the Government to take that is different from what it is already doing.
