Landlords to maintain or sell empty properties
Abandoned properties encourage antisocial behaviour and lead to the break down of communities.
Landlords should be forced by law to meet specific standards of maintenance and repair and take measures to restrict public access.
Landlords who do not meet the requirements would be fined considerable sums as a way to encourage the sale of the properties for housing projects on brown field sites.
There are many derelict factories etc which could be redeveloped thus saving the countryside and regenerating communities and assisting with the housing crisis.
