Declare the result of the 2016 EU Referendum to be undemocratic and invalid
The most significant and widely publicised claim made by the Vote Leave Campaign, namely that the UK sends £350 million every week to the EU, was shown to be untrue, was known to be untrue by those making the claim and had an influence on voter behaviour, thereby corrupting the democratic process.
No democratic process can be just and valid if influenced, even in part, by the deliberate publication and promotion of information that is not only false but is known to be false by one or more of the parties involved. The £350 million claim ignored the UK rebate; was known to be untrue (based on statements made by major figures in the Leave Campaign); and had an influence on voter behaviour (based on evidence from pre-referendum polling and documented post-referendum interviews).
