Debate the motion "the house does not believe that the UK should leave the EU"
The recent referendum on leaving the EU was not conducted with the arguments for and against presented factually. This did not allow the UK electorate to be able to vote fully understanding the implications of an exit vote versus a remain vote. Many voters cast their votes with heart not head.
The elected Members of the house have a responsibility to to the people of the UK and as such would be negligent to allow the UK to leave the EU if it is not in the best interests of the UK.
The Members of Parliament should not hide behind the referendum if they debate the motion and agree that it is not in the best interest of the UK to leave the EU. They should therefore take all the options open to them to prevent this.
