Direct public annually Elected Matrons as boss of hospitals and Public Advocate of Patient Safety and Involvement in Decision Making about their care

Create statutory direct public annually elected Matron in each hospital in England, so not be run by politics / managers, but by users / taxpayers.
Legislation giving power to Matron as follows.
Enforce Patient/patient's family involvement in patient care, patient safety and dignity. Enforce not permitting nil resuscitation orders/reduced therapy. Matron to be in charge and above all hospital staff, including Chief Executive and Consultants in hospitals; walk the wards; not be office bound; and appoint direct supporting deputy Matrons. Funded by abolishing N.I.C.E., Quality Care Commission and Monitor. Enforce no discrimination based on age, disability or serious illness of patients. Ensure knowledge of special requirements of elderly patients. Enforce commodes / bed pans swiftly provided; food / water is provided in accessible form; medical staff/carers heeding patient / patient's family re personal knowledge of patient. Permit patient's family to feed and give drink to patient.
