Create a national football team for Yorkshire
Yorkshire is a proud and loved county, this has been shown in the support for the county in the Tour de France grande depart in 2014, and its legacy cycling race the Tour de Yorkshire. It is time then that Yorkshire(that has over 5,000,000 people in it)represents itself in the worlds greatest sport.
Yorkshire has suffered many hardships in the past, for example Yorkshire isn't even an official county anymore after the Local Government Act of 1972 dividing Yorkshire into three separate boroughs (west, south and north). Creating a national team would reinstate happiness and belief in the people of Yorkshire that they haven't lost their precious county. Yorkshire has twice the economy of Wales (a national team) and around the same population of Scotland (a national team)
