Petition Action

Take urgent cross-party action to tackle hate crimes following the EU referendum

Petition Details

The vote to leave the EU has triggered an unprecedented number of xenophobic attacks across the country. Our way of life is under threat. This is an extremely dangerous climate that can quickly escalate towards violence if not dealt with an immediate, decisive and coordinated action.

Additional Information

It is widely acknowledged that divisive EU referendum campaigns have contributed significantly to soaring racist and hate crimes. From the attack on Juan Jasso on a Manchester tram, “No more Polish vermin” cards in Huntingdon, verbal abuse of the BBC’s reporter Sima Kotecha and English football fans verbally abusing children in Lille, France to numerous unreported cases circulating daily amongst friends and communities, hate crimes have become a grave cause for concern across the country.
