The government must immediately invoke Article 50 to leave the E.U.

Petition Details

David Cameron promised he would immediately invoke Article 50 to leave the E.U. in the event of a Leave Vote. He is now refusing to do so and ignoring the result of the referendum. This is throwing British democracy into disrepute at a time when all faith and respect for our politicians has gone.

Additional Information

22 Feb 2016: David Cameron stated "a straight democratic decision… Having a second renegotiation followed by a second referendum is not on the ballot paper. If the British people vote to leave, there is only one way to bring that about, namely to trigger article 50 of the treaties and begin the process of exit, and the British people would rightly expect that to start straight away."
