MPs Michael Gove, Andrea Leadsom, Liam Fox, Boris Johnson should be impeached
During the referendum campaign, they continually made the statement that we, in the UK, ‘send the EU £350 million a week.’ This statement is untrue. They included the UK rebate in this figure. However, the rebate never leaves these shores. All were repeatedly told that it was untrue.
Despite being told that this statement was untrue, they continued to repeat it. This statement played a central part in the referendum campaign and misled many people. As the referendum result was very close, and as some studies show that it was the most influential and remembered element of the campaign, this statement may have made the difference between victory and defeat for the Leave side. This raises a moral question of the gravest nature, whatever the consequences for the country.
