Andrew Murray Burnham is a British Labour Party politician who has been the Member of Parliament for Leigh since 2001 and the Shadow Home Secretary since 2015.
Born in the Old Roan area of Aintree, Merseyside, on the border of Liverpool, Burnham was educated at local comprehensive schools and graduated with a degree in English from Fitzwilliam College at the University of Cambridge.
