Outlaw the choosing of Prime Ministers by unelected members of political parties
The choice of a new Prime Minister between general elections should not be delegated by elected MPs to unelected and unaccountable party members as if the office was a private possession of the party in power and those who have paid it a membership fee.
The qualification for voting in the forthcoming election of a new Prime Minister is having paid £25 as a party membership fee. The prohibition requested would apply to all parties.
