Petition Action

To launch an inquiry into the culture of deliberately misleading the electorate

Petition Details

We the undersigned call for a public inquiry into the culture and ethics of deliberately misleading the electorate, and into the conduct of politicians and the press during the EU Referendum campaigns. It is crucial to examine whether deliberate untruths were communicated to the public.

Additional Information

It is crucial that those who has explicit knowledge of deliberate lies be uncovered, and be held accountable, in the hope that this may lead to a truthful and trustworthy political system.

It is within the public's interest to examine whether the act of deliberating lying constitutes an abuse of power, and whether this should lead to punitive action. This is crucial when the electorate, and the information they are given, has such a critical role in the decision to leave the EU.
