Petition Action

Assure EU citizens already in the UK of their right to remain if Britain exits

Petition Details

I am concerned about the anxiety being caused to immigrant friends in Britain by the "Brexit" uncertainty and appalled by the spike in xenophobic attacks.

We ask the Home Secretary to issue a reassuring statement to those anxious that they might be deported.

Additional Information

On the Sunday, after Britain’s vote to leave the EU, xenophobic graffiti were found scrawled across the doors of the Polish centre in Hammersmith.

Some Poles are saying "If we are not welcome then we will go home to Poland".

Other Poles are angry and saying "That's the last time Polish airmen help you with your wars!"

A German friend is deeply anxious about her future here.

A Romanian friend and carer told us she has been having many sleepless nights on account of the worry.
