Petition Action

Call a referendum to vote on any deal made to end the UK's membership of the EU

Petition Details

We, the undersigned, hereby require that a referendum should take place on the acceptability of any agreement reached under Article 50 negotiations to leave the EU. This referendum will require that a majority of voters (representing more than 50% of those eligible to vote) approves the agreement.

Additional Information

A failure to meet this threshold will mean that the agreement is unacceptable to the UK, and will overturn the result of the referendum held on 23 June 2016 (which was only approved by 37% of those eligible to vote), meaning the UK does not leave the EU. Eligibility to vote will include any UK national living in the EU regardless of their time there (not limited to 15 years).
