Petition Details

Following the abuse levelled at the Leader of the Opposition such as "wear a better suit" and "sit down and shut up" there should be repercussions for the continued poor behaviour of those allegedly representing the manners and standards of behaviour of the British population.

Additional Information

Jeremy Corbyn was told to "sit down and shut up" as he criticised the Iraq War in a speech to the House of Commons after the publication of the Chilcot report.

Labour MP for Dudley North Ian Austin heckled the Labour leader, telling him to "shut up" and shouting "you're a disgrace".

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

There are already a number of rules, codes, conventions and precedents governing MPs' behaviour. It's not clear what more you want Parliament to do.
