Make anyone buying property in the UK, live in the UK for a minimum of 5 yrs
In many areas of the UK housing stock is being snapped up by foreign investors a) They pay cash beating local citizens who need mortgages b) property prices are rising artificially and locals cannot afford to buy c) Often properties are left empty so ghost areas are appearing
I live in Cambridge and there is lots of housebuilding occurring here, but the properties are being snatched up off plan by investors, artificially raising house prices locally and as its not worth their inconvenience to fill them because house prices are rising so quickly, left empty.
