An unelected Prime Minister, from a Government with a very slim majority, does not have a mandate from this Country and should call a General Election ASAP to legitimise their position.

The United Kingdom does not have a Governor General.

Parliament can only be dissolved as provided for under the Fixed-term Parliaments Act 2011.
