Petition Action

Governments need to implement a sustainable model of farming.

Petition Details

Animal agriculture is a leading source of carbon-dioxide, nitrous-oxide, and methane emissions, the top three greenhouse gasses. Due to corporations who run these companies nothing is ever said or done about this, as its worth billions of pounds.

Additional Information

We need the governments to reject the current model of intensive farming that characterises industrial agriculture and replace it with farming that works both with nature and the needs of local communities.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We're not sure which governments you mean. If you mean international governments, this is not something which the UK Government has power to do. You could start a new petition asking the Government to do something for which it is does have the power, for example, calling on the UK Government to raise the issue of sustainable farming with international partners.
