Make major online-based firms (eg twitter) provide TELEPHONE customer support
Firms such as Google, facebook, Linkedin, Twitter derive huge revenues from the UK market - but do not offer their UK customers any TELEPHONE helpline support (just emails, Q&A, user fora etc). ie they are making things easier (and cheaper) for themselves and more difficult for their customers.
For example, LinkedIn has Customer Experience Advocates, a typically ridiculous term for someone at the other end of an EMAIL, whose job is to help customers with questions queries etc. But you cannot actually TALK to them. The internet has already created huge SOCIAL EXCLUSION of older poorer people - and the increasing use of 'helpbots' will simply add to this. Not everybody is 16 and just wants to top-up their iphone ! By contrast GoDaddy has excellent telephone support - so it can be done
