Protect our critical service industries during Brexit
Our science, tech and financial industries have proven to be critical to the success of the UK. London is a global financial centre with the largest city GDP in Europe, it provides the UK with many opportunities. Talented workers and investors will leave unless they are confident of their future.
- The service sector contributes ~78% of our GDP
- The European Research Council is one of our biggest science funders.
- Fintech has demonstrated unprecedented economic potential over the next few years.
- Technology companies in the UK have relied on EU migration to hire shortfalls in talent.
- A "brain drain" of EU and UK nationals would be a disaster.
- These industries have all made clear their position on Brexit and their intent to relocate unless their needs are met in the UK.
