Petition Details

There are far too many innocuous petitions on social media.
We would like to put a stop to the abuse of the parliamentary debating process.

Additional Information

Far too many people now believe its their basic human right to be offended and make everyone think the way they do. Hence, turning to social media and petitions to stop debate.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

The right to petition the UK Parliament is a long established democratic right and there are various ways in which individuals can petition Parliament and Government. The longest established method is a paper petition, and Parliament still receives many of these, none of which are shared on social media. If you want the UK Government and Parliament to close this e-petitions site, we could accept a new petition about that.
