Sort out schools making children stay home for 48 hrs when there well enough

Petition Details

The government set a standard attendance rate of 94%. Schools make you keep a well child at home for 48hrs after a child is sick, when they are perfectly well enough to return to school, this is 48hrs of missed education that will child's potential. This needs to stop

Additional Information

We are not allowed to take children on a five day holiday yet if a child is sick for one day they are made to stay home for three in total, there is no excuse for this to take place when u penalised parents for taking there children out of school for holidays and u penalise us for low attendance but the schools are contributing to there attendance rate by making us keep them home

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

This appears to be a decision for individual schools and not the UK Government or Parliament. You could speak to the school directly about its sickness policy.
