Constitutionally review the EU referendum due to the many disenfranchised expats
The Queen's speech of May 27 2015 contained a commitment to "Votes for Life" for UK nationals living abroad irrespective of duration. In the 2015 Parliament business HM government scheduled the EU referendum before any consideration of "Votes for life" legislation, disenfranchising many UK citizens,
Responding to parliamentary petition 112142 (deposed 17/11/2015) HM government committed to extend voting rights to all UK expats but did not arrange parliamentary business to enact this before the EU referendum - in default of due diligence in the commitment to restore voting rights to UK Citizens - violating Art. 21 of the UN Declaration on Human Rights. We call for further Government consideration of EU exit to be postponed pending an independent constitutional review of the referendum.
