Article 50 not to be triggered until Leave Campaign promises are assured with EU
On 23 June, the United Kingdom voted to leave the EU. This vote was based on a number of assurances given by the leave campaign including but not limited to:
- continued free and unfettered access to the single market; whilst
- securing the ability to put caps on EU immigration.
Upon appointment, our new Prime Minister, The Rt Hon Theresa May MP has appointed a number of the Leave Campaign's chief architects who, during the campaign, repeatedly, gave the electorate a number of assurances including but not limited to those set out above.
Accordingly, The Foreign Secretary and the Brexit Minister now have the offices of state to deliver on the assurances they made and upon which people voted.
Article 50 should not be triggered until those assurances are delivered.
