Petition Action

Hold referendums on petitions with enough signatures to vote on whether to make them laws

Additional Information

I propose that if a group or person can get a designated number of signatures on a petition for a new law that they are proposing, that the government must initiate a national referendum for the public to vote on whether the proposed law should become law or not. The public – the people – should have the right to make their own laws on what they want.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

There's already a petition about this issue. We cannot accept a new petition when we already have one about a very similar issue.

You are more likely to get action on this issue if you sign and share a single petition.
