NHS Doctors especially those who work in hospitals should wear uniforms - scrubs
Doctors should wear uniforms so they are easily identified. If doctors were to wear scrubs which are colour coded to what level they are at this would put patients mind at ease. Rather than doctors wearing their own clothes, also their uniform can not be worn outside of work (to and from work).
Infection Control would be better if this action was put in to motion as NHS Staff are the biggest germ carrier. Patients would feel more at ease if Doctors had an uniform on as it can be quite intimidating for patients to talk to plain clothed professionals especially as some do not introduce themselves at first point of contact.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
NHS England is operationally independent of government. Some of its activities are decided by government, for example, which treatments will be available or whether a particular hospital will be kept open. Staff uniforms are not an area for which the Department for Health is responsible.
