Petition Action

Stop subsidy by English taxpayers to Scottish University students/

Petition Details

At present English (I don't know about Welsh or Northern Irish ) taxpayers subsidise the Scottish University system through taxation that allows Scottish students to attend University for fee free whilst English students have to take out loans -to the sum of £27,000 for fees alone before living cost

Additional Information

This is bona fide truth does not require referencing-Nicola Sturgeon wants Scotland to be in EU and UK and keep the pound no doubt she wants English taxpayers to continue to subsidise the Scottish University system.THIS IS UNFAIR,UNDEMOCRATIC,UNACCEPTABLE.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Higher education funding in Scotland is the responsibility of the Scottish Government. That means that the UK Government and Parliament don't make decisions about university fees in Scotland.

We can only accept petitions about actions that are the responsibility of the UK Government and/or Parliament.
