Notification to leave the EU should require formal Parliamentary approval

Petition Details

We call upon Parliament, before notification is given under article 50 of the Lisbon treaty, to debate the seven factors listed below under "more details" and to formally consider whether the UK should, in the circumstances, proceed to exit the EU or should take some other course.”

Additional Information

1.The referendum is “advisory”, not binding
2.Many of the statements during the campaign were misleading, as has been admitted since
3.Brexit will potentially split the UK & cause dissent in some areas
4.Changes to residence, healthcare etc of UK citizens in the EU cause great hardship.
5.Many of those mentioned in (4) were denied a vote.
6.Re-joining the EU would not benefit from any rebate or “opt-out” & would require the adoption of the Euro
7.The verdict is flawed because of 2 & 5 above
