Change the law, to give people in rural village communities the right to buy.
I’m living in a housing association home in a village I grew up in.The Housing (Right to Acquire or Enfranchise)(Designated Rural Areas in the Southwest) Order 1997 stops selling of right to buy properties in villages/towns with populations of less than 3000 residents it is unfair on rural tenants
My application to have the right to aquire/buy in January 2016 was rejected. I’ve written to and been ignored by my local MP for support and received an unsatisfactory reply from Brandon Lewis, Housing Minister at the time (Even though he agrees to the sale of housing association homes). My only recourse is this petition to get the issue raised in parliament and hopefully remove the 3000 resident stipulation as the housing and planning bill including, right to buy is currently being considered
