Petition Details

We're wanting to lower the speed limit on Burton Road leading to Tutbury (A511) its currently the national speed limit which is way too high! This now needs to be lower as there is new housing estate! Trying to pull out of the junction is a nightmare aswel as turning into the new estate!

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise. The speed limit for the A511 is the responsibility of the relevant local authority.

You can find out which local authority is responsible using a postcode and this website: www.gov.uk/request-speed-limit-change

You could raise this issue with a local councillor, who represents you. You can use this page to find out who your local councillors are, and how to contact them:

The local council responsible may also have a petitions process - you can find out more by contacting them or looking on their website.
