Do not bring in a fee to use Hampshire Recycling Centres
Cllr Rob Humby, who is responsible for environment and transport at the county council, said that he would be lobbying the government for a change in the law so residents could be charged to use any tip in the county.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise. Recycling is the responsibility of your local council.
You could raise your issue with a local councillor, who represents you. You can use this page to find out who your local councillors are, and how to contact them:
www.gov.uk/find-your-local-councillors
Your local council also has a petitions process - you can find out more about it here: http://www3.hants.gov.uk/haveyoursay/petitions.htm
If you want the UK Government to prevent all local authorities charging for use of waste recycling centers, we could accept a petition on that. The Government has recently held a consultation on this issue. You can find out more information here: www.gov.uk/government/consultations/preventing-backdoor-charging-at-household-waste-recycling-centres
