Introduce more legal protection for the river Thames.
The Thames is heavily polluted due to the actions of the past. 50 years ago, it was considered to be biologically dead. While it has improved dramatically, more needs to be done to protect it, such as more legislation to get more money being spent on cleaning the river.
Did you know that in the Hampton Court Swim, 338 out of 1000 people contracted symptoms of diseases by swimming in the Thames?
Did you know that 2/3 of London's water comes from the Thames, but that you can potentially get diseases such as cryptosporidiosis, E. Coli and Leptospirosis?
Did you know that the river is full of pollutants such as mercury and lead?
