Petition Action

Make the government take a more active role in providing food for those in need.

Petition Details

We are campaigning on behalf of over 1.1 million people in the UK who have needed emergency food supplies from The Trussell Trust in the last year (1). Food bank usage is on the rise, but we believe it is the government's responsibility to provide food for their people, not that of the food banks.

Additional Information

The emergency food supplied by The Trussell Trust is estimated as less than half the number of the total amount of emergency food supplies distributed in the UK (2). However the government plan to cut welfare by £3bn by 2020 (2).
