Stop Housing Associations charging more than social rent on their properties.

My 20 years old has a 1 bedroom Circle 33 Housing Association property and her rent in £189.00 per week. Another Circle property 2 minutes away is £129.00 p/w. She is under so much stress and anxiety worrying about getting work and paying her rent and not ending up homeless.

Additional Information

She will have to claim a portion of Housing Benefit as she will not be in a position to pay it all herself. Surely if the rent was lowered there would be smaller claims for Housing Benefit, possibly no claims at all in some circumstances being made. Surely it is common sense to reduce the rent to reduce the amount of Housing Benefit claims being made. There is nothing included the £189.00 rent, e.g. water rates or care taking facilities.
