Abolish government interference in the BBC

The media is meant to act as 'the fourth estate;' to hold politicians to account.

The government's increasingly ideological intervention in the operation of the BBC is incompatible with the public service broadcaster's independent and publicly-accountable remit. We petition to have the BBC Charter and overall stewardship of the BBC outsourced to an independent body, on behalf of Licence Fee payers, free of political motivation.
