Amend the Wildlife & Countryside Act 1981 to include culling of Seagulls
Common gull problems:
• Excessive Gull noise in Summer
• Rooftop nesting attracts parasites
• Gulls attack people, are known to swoop at children to steal food
• Excess Gull guano is a health risk, on lawns, patios, ventilation systems
• Damage caused by acidic nature of seagull guano
Action
Include in commercial planning application and urban development plans the following:
• Mandatory egg and nest removal during the nesting season
• Gull proofing to include netting, spiking or a bird gel
• Audio distress broadcasts
• The use of a laser deterrent and
• Include in the Prevention of Damage by Pests Act 1949 action to control seagull population.
